mental wellness.
Providing mental healthcare through the lens of education, advocacy, and compassion to those experiencing impairments related to mood disturbances, psychiatric distress, ADHD, substance use disorders, trauma, and life transitions.
Sometimes obstacles prevent clients from coming into the office, but help is still available. Our provider may be able to meet you over a HIPAA-compliant connection.
Medication management may be a crucial aspect of mental health treatment needed to address mental distress. While beginning any medication can be stressful, it is important to understand the pivotal roles that proper diagnosis and medication selection play in achieving optimal mental stability.
The types of medications recommended may differ depending on the symptoms of the mental health condition being treated. Because personal responses to medications can vary, it is key to build and maintain a therapeutic relationship between client and provider.
We are happy to discuss alternative medication options for the use of a class of medications called benzodiazepines (Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan, Valium, and others) for anxiety disorders.
It is almost always recommended to utilize therapy and/or support groups in conjunction with medication management to enhance results. These approaches to mental health treatment can help clients develop coping skills and gain a deeper understanding of their mental health status.
Various topic-specific therapy and support groups will be offered throughout the year. Themes of groups include the postpartum transition, the cycle of chronic mental illness, empowerment through emotion recognition, the neurodivergent brain & associated behaviors, and more.
We offer consulting services to support healthcare providers who are caring for clients in the perinatal period (before, during, and after pregnancy) with mental health diagnoses because we understand that referring a client to a specialist can be a barrier to care.
Consultations may benefit primary care providers, obstetricians/gynecologists, women's health nurse practitioners, or family nurse practitioners who need guidance on or confirmation of best practices to maintain or promote stability.
